Stopping in at the Midtown Global Market is always like taking an international getaway.
Throughout the rest of July, the south Minneapolis destination has a series of special events that include live music, art, cooking tips, and free frozen treats.
For Saturday, July 17, the Global Art Pop Up Art Show & Sale brings together the work of several talented local artists from the Art Shoppe, as well as music by Matt Yetter.
Hot Indian executive chef Janene Holig hosts a virtual cooking class to prepare Murgh Makhani (Butter Chicken), Basmati Rice, and Garlic Naan on Monday, July, 19.
Then, on Saturday, July 24, the first 1,000 visitors will receive a free frozen treat from Minnesota’s own JonnyPops. (The company recently started making dairy-free treats.) The event is tied to the return of the Minneapolis Aquatennial.
Check in on Sunday, July 25, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the Blood Drive with the Memorial Blood Centers. You need to schedule your donations time in advance on line at www.mbc.org/searchdrives and enter the sponsor code 4915 or call MBC at 1-888-GIVE-BLD. If you give blood, you will be entered to win Minnesota State Fair tickets.
