The curtain is rising on a culinary debut. For decades, Chanhassen Dinner Theatres has paired its performances with one of its own long-running stars: Famous Chicken Chanhassen. The dish first appeared on the theater’s menu in 1971, evolving over the years before landing on its now-signature combination of oven-baked chicken, Minnesota wild rice stuffing, and Hollandaise in 1980.
Now, you don’t need a theater ticket to get a taste. Through a new partnership with Kowalski’s Markets, Chicken Chanhassen is available to enjoy at home, complete with two chicken breasts, signature wild rice stuffing, carrots, and Hollandaise. It’s a Minnesota classic with serious staying power: More than 3.7 million portions have been served at the theater since 1980. Just heat, serve, and save the standing ovation for the chef.
