As the Minneapolis Aquatennial continues, Wednesday, July 22, offers two signature events that showcase the city’s summer spirit—one on the streets and one on the Mississippi River.

The evening begins with the Twin Cities River Rats‘ free water ski show, “The Never River,” a whimsical take on Peter Pan. Watch Peter, Wendy, and the Darling children soar, spin, and ski across the Mississippi in a family-friendly performance filled with high-flying stunts and plenty of pixie dust. The pre-show begins at 6:20 p.m., with the main performance starting at 7 p.m. along West River Road between the Broadway and Plymouth bridges.
Then, head downtown for one of the Midwest’s largest nighttime parades. The Minneapolis Aquatennial Torchlight Parade steps off at 7:30 p.m., bringing illuminated floats, marching bands, specialty units, community organizations, and high-energy performances through the heart of downtown. Drawing more than 100,000 spectators each year, the parade is known for its colorful entries, interactive entertainment, and festive atmosphere that lights up the city after sunset.
