If it feels like Rosedale Center has been quietly upping its game in recent years, you’re not imagining things. The centrally located shopping destination—perched conveniently between Minneapolis and St. Paul—is in the midst of a renaissance of sorts, chasing the rampant evolution of suburban competitors like Ridgedale and Southdale Center.
Its latest announcement of retail additions proves no different. This year, six new tenants will join the 1.1-million-square-foot center, offering fresh reasons to make the trip to Roseville—whether you’re chasing high-end jewelry, a creative team outing, or just a really good croissant.
The Newcomers
The growing list of incoming retailers offers a little something for every shopper—an eclectic landscape of luxury, experiential, sugary sweet retail. Fashion lovers will appreciate the additions of affordable luxury jeweler Kendra Scott, and of course, J. Crew Factory, which will offer outlet mall-level discounts on the classic American brand. Young professionals can find their polished office wear at Johnston & Murphy, a heritage footwear brand that has been dressing U.S. presidents since 1850, and maybe even enjoy a round of team bonding at BRKTHROUGH, an immersive, team-based puzzle and challenge experience—think escape room meets game show. Paris Baguette beckons to sweet tooths and Francophiles alike, employing its French-inspired bakery treats as a mid-day shopping pick-me-up, while Lolli & Pops draws the young (and young at heart) to its wonderland of nostalgic sweets.
These breakout additions join a growing lineup of recently opened favorites like Dick’s Sporting Goods, Legendary Spice & Boba X, and Kukuri, further diversifying the retail and dining mix.
The Suburban Mall Revival
This expansion is about more than adding stores—it’s about evolving how people use malls today.
“With consumers’ increased appetite for new brands, experiences, and evolving retailers, we’re focused on providing additional choices to complement our existing tenants,” Lisa Crain said in a prepared statement—Vice President of Retail and General Manager at Rosedale Center. “Our vision is to ensure this dynamic entertainment center remains the Twin Cities’ premiere shopping destination for years to come.”
The mall’s recent efforts seem to align with this goal. From AMC movie nights to pop-up markets like Rose & Loon, Rosedale has been steadily layering in experiences that cater to families, foodies, and fashion lovers alike.
JLL’s national leasing team, led by Holly Rome and Lane Walsh, is steering this reinvention. The goal is clear: Keep Rosedale not just alive, but relevant—a place where shopping, eating, and entertainment feel exciting again.
