Looking for something to do on this balmy Thursday evening? Join us in the Fountain Room of the Lumber Exchange for the Best of Minnesota Party!
The night will highlight all that we love about this state—the people, the culture, the landmarks, and the spirit. Enjoy food from top restaurants around the state and award-winning wine, craft beer, and cocktails while you soak up the splendor of arts and entertainment. Guests are invited to continue the fun with card, dice, and games of chance (there may even be some fabulous prizes). Musical entertainment will be provided by local talented musicians Trainwreck Duet and Tim Mahoney, a past finalist on The Voice. This is a great way to enjoy a night downtown with food, drinks, and live music under one roof. As if that isn’t enough excitement for the evening, Minnesota Monthly magazine will also announce the winner of the inaugural Best Minnesota Town contest. Will it be Austin, Bemidji, Owatonna, Waconia, or Walker? The winning town receives an editorial feature, promotional opportunities, and a party.
The venue is beautiful, too. As the first skyscraper in downtown Minneapolis, originally built in 1885, The Lumber Exchange—a Minneapolis landmark—was one of the most expensive buildings of its time. It features vaulted ceiling and archways, sparkling chandeliers, and pristine marble floors. The Lumber Exchange Event Center, set within the Lumber Exchange building at the intersection of 5th and Hennepin, is host to many events including weddings, galas, and now our very own Best of Minnesota Party. A bride who recently got married in the remodeled space described it as “magical.”
