Collaboration For a Cause: The Maker’s Collection

Twin Cities designers are making more than pretty products these days—they’re enacting social change. The Minneapolis-based American Refugee Committee has tapped local artisans to create special pieces benefiting the group’s worldwide refugee-relief mission while maintaining its Minnesota connection. The wares run the gamut from food to fashion to home décor, creating a cohesive collection of giftables. One highlight is this hand-dyed scarf in soft shades of gray and blue from Hackwith Design House, a local favorite for high-quality handcrafted pieces—it’s the perfect weight for spring. Other participants include handbag guru Spring Finn & Co., functional home-décor brand Wind & Willow Home, and the nature-focused woodworkers at Woodchuck USA. And chocolatier B.T. McElrath has joined forces with Dunn Bros. Coffee to create a Changemaker Chocolate Bar packed with dark-roasted coffee-bean bits. Shopping for a cause has never been sweeter.
