Event: The 10th-annual Diamond Awards were held on Thursday, January 22, at Target Field.
Cause: The Diamond Awards honor Minnesota Twins who performed spectacular feats both on and off the field in the previous season. This year’s event benefited research efforts at the University of Minnesota regarding nerve, muscular, and neurological disorders.
Honored: 12 Twins, including Phil Hughes, Danny Santana, and Pat Neshek, took home 13 awards, from Most Valuable Twin to Outstanding Rookie to Upper Midwest Player of the Year, respectively.
Going Once, Going Twice: A silent auction included jerseys signed by this year’s Diamond Award winners, as well as other signed baseball memorabilia.
