When Nora McInerny’s young husband fell ill, she started a popular blog called My Husband’s Tumor. After his death, she founded a nonprofit called Still Kickin, inspired by a phrase from one of his favorite t-shirts. Today, shirts with that message help others who are struggling with sickness, death, or other challenges. And every month, the organization chooses a Still Kickin Hero to receive the proceeds from sales of its branded products and donation-based workouts with small gyms around the country.
Recently, the local account manager of the national yogawear brand Lululemon reached out to McInerny to collaborate on a line of Still Kickin–branded athletic wear. ”It’s very hard as a small non-profit retail brand to knock on doors of bigger companies,” McInerny says, ”so to have a big company come to us is so exciting and validating.” The collection includes eight styles for men and women ranging from shorts and leggings to tanks, tees, and long-sleeved shirts, with additional products in the works. • Shop Still Kickin
