Local restaurants are dishing up special fish meals in honor of the Lenten tradition of abstaining from eating meat on Fridays until Easter (which is on April 20 this year). But you don’t have to practice this Catholic tradition to enjoy the delicious meals and deals that run from March 5 (which is Ash Wednesday when Lent begins) or Friday, March 7 through April 17 or 18. Here is a roundup of some deals to check out, and look for possible updates as more are announced.

The Sunfish Sammy comes on a toasted hoagie with spicy remoulade, American cheese, coleslaw, and steak fries tossed in malt vinegar and smoked Maldon salt for $15. Pair your meal with Saint Paul Brewing craft beer, Hamm’s beer, or your choice of wine or cocktail. Nonalcoholic beverages are also available.
