Game Time Sports Bar & Arcade Coming to Midtown Global Market

Opening on Super Bowl Sunday, the new spot will feature TVs, arcade games, cocktails, and stadium-style eats

Need somewhere to watch the big game? Try Game Time Sports Bar & Arcade, the newest addition to Midtown Global Market (MGM) opening on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 9.

Founded by five lifelong friends, Game Time will be a dynamic community gathering space that highlights local entrepreneurs. “What started as a high school friends’ vision is now officially moving forward—we’re proud lease owners,” the group shared on Instagram.

Co-owner Elvis Rivera says when the opportunity to open inside MGM surfaced, he and his partners couldn’t pass up the chance to continue the revitalization of Lake Street. “It’s our mission to contribute to the rebuilding of Lake Street after 2020, and hopefully inspire more BIPOC business ownership as well,” Rivera said in a statement. Game Time will also mark the second MGM restaurant opened by co-owner Hosie Thurmond, who co-owns Slice Brothers Pizza, as well.

Game Time will feature TVs, arcade and interactive games, cocktails, beer, and stadium-style eats like giant pretzels with smoked gouda cheese sauce, street corn loaded tots, and peanut butter bacon dogs. The drink menu will pay homage to Minnesota sports legends—try a Mauer Mule or Whalen’s Court-Side Margarita.
