When LaunchPad Golf The Meadows invited me out for a visit, I was already curious—any venue promising “next-level golf entertainment” has a high bar to clear. But after a morning in one of their private rooms (yes, two bays all to ourselves), I can officially confirm: it did not disappoint.
Directly adjacent to Mystic Lake Casino Hotel and The Meadows Golf Course, LaunchPad Golf (which opened in October) feels like a modern hybrid of high-tech play and thoughtful hospitality. In each bay, Inrange® radar technology tracks every shot with precision, while a lively indoor-outdoor vibe keeps the space feeling energetic without being overwhelming. It’s the kind of place where serious golfers and complete beginners can happily coexist—which, in my group, was very much the case. I brought my in-laws, and between the five of us, we range from pretty decent at golf (my husband) to barely being able to hit the ball (the rest of us).
As for the food, we worked our way through Swedish-style elk and wild rice meatballs, crab and sweet corn fritters, and two plates of loaded fries (one traditional with sour cream and bacon, the other with chili-lime seasoning and ancho crema). But the standout was The Big Island flatbread—sweet jalapeño heat, pineapple, and yes, SPAM. It shouldn’t work, but it absolutely does. (I’m still thinking about it.)

What struck me most was how adaptable the entire venue is. With 40 heated suites, two bars, full restaurant service, and several private event spaces—including the room we tested out—it’s easy to envision everything from family outings to corporate events unfolding here year-round. LaunchPad doesn’t just aim to entertain; it aims to gather, and it does that well.

There’s also a deeper story behind the fun. Owned and operated by the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community, LaunchPad Golf The Meadows is part of a broader vision of Native-led innovation in recreation, hospitality, and community-building. It brings something truly new to the Twin Cities—an elevated, tech-forward space that still feels rooted in connection.
Whether you’re in it for the practice, the games, the atmosphere, or (honestly) the flatbread, LaunchPad Golf The Meadows is absolutely worth the trip to Prior Lake. Consider it your newest year-round hangout—just bring a few friends and be ready to swing, snack, and stay awhile.
