As warm weather makes its return to the state, it’s time to start planning for the fun and enriching experiences that create core memories for Minnesota kids: summer camps. Modern camps offer both quintessential camp activities (think campfires, arts and crafts, and time in nature) and interest- and skills-focused adventures (like learning a new language or diving into a STEM workshop). These days, there’s truly a camp for every age group and interest. To shine the spotlight on some of Minnesota’s top summer camps, we’ve put together this resource guide, featuring camps across the state that offer a range of experiences for kids of all ages—sure to make this summer one to remember.

Camps are led by world-class teaching artists and are designed to meet each student where they are—whether they’re picking up an instrument for the very first time, exploring a new genre of music, or pursuing advanced goals. MacPhail’s summer programs serve children and teens ages 3 to 18, with different programs tailored for each age and stage, from early childhood to high school. Offerings include camps in classical, jazz, rock, and electronic music; songwriting; instrument-specific skills programs; and playful, exploratory experiences for younger children.
