Scott and Kris O’Malley are the visionary founders of CLRTY Co., a Minnesota-based company redefining the landscape of cannabis-infused drinks. The journey began when Scott struggled with sleeplessness and turned to CBD for relief. Unsatisfied with the effects, he collaborated with a biochemist to craft a custom formula of cannabinoids, paving the way for clr!ty beverages.
Starting in the CBD space prior to Minnesota’s legalization of THC edibles in 2022, clr!ty initially self-distributed its products for a month and a half before partnering with Anheuser-Busch. The company found its niche with seltzers, gradually expanding its line to
include 5 mg and 10 mg THC options, as well as two unique cold-brew coffee flavors—making clr!ty one of the only brands in the country to offer shelf-stable THC coffee drinks.
Last year, clr!ty introduced two soda flavors, with plans to add more this spring. The seltzer variety pack, featuring flavors like Pink Lemonade and Tangerine, has become a standout, particularly in Minnesota’s competitive market of over 250 THC beverage brands.
How does clr!ty stand out? “It has to taste good with or without THC,” Scott says. “We spend more money on flavoring on purpose.” (It took 14 taste tests to get the cold-brew mocha latte just right.)
Clr!ty emphasizes quality flavoring, unique packaging, and strategic partnerships with co-packers like Fulton Beer and Summit Brewing Co. Meanwhile, Kris oversees the brand’s creative direction, ensuring each product not only tastes good but also appeals to a broad audience, across generations—of legal age, of course.

With a dedicated team of five core members and an advisory board of industry experts, clr!ty is making waves across nine states, with aspirations to expand to 14 soon. The O’Malleys envision a future where the THC industry evolves into a more specialized and innovative market.
