CityTins incentivizes diners to explore the Twin Cities culinary scene while keeping hard-earned dollars in the local economy

It is clear that the restaurant industry has been one of the hardest hit by the pandemic. What we once took for granted, enjoying a nice meal in close proximity with others, we realized can now cease in an instant. Compounding the issues are third-party delivery services which further gouge the restaurant’s bottom line making it very difficult to profit from takeout. There is no shortage, however, of culinary talent in the Twin Cities. Restaurants are ready to serve up neighborhood eats for every palate and budget. In order to support local eateries striving to weather ongoing circumstances, the best-case scenario for restaurants is to be able to stay open, greet dine-in customers and work as closely to fully operational as possible. To that end, CityTins has issued its third iteration of the Twin Cities Restaurant Edition, featuring an iconic lineup of locally-owned eateries throughout the Minneapolis-St. Paul market.

CityTins provides a catalyst to choose local restaurants over national chains. Inside every clever little tin are 20+ coaster gift cards featuring 20+ local eateries. Each coaster is worth $10 off your tab of $25 or more for dine-in (or $5 off $25 for takeout). A  $200 value in every tin for $30 makes it a perfect gift for date night, Galentine’s Day or the hardest-to-shop-for family member. There are no black-out dates or long list of exclusions. Simply pop open the tin, give the enclosed “Dinner Spinner” a whirl if you can’t decide where to go, and take the selected coaster to the featured restaurant. Submit the coaster when the check is presented and they’ll automatically take $10 off your tab.

The full list of restaurants featured in the 2022 Twin Cities Restaurant Edition are: Barbette, Blue Moon at State Fair, Book Club, Brasa, Dixie’s/Emmett’s Public House, Holman’s Table, The Lexington, The Loop, The Naughty Greek, Nico’s Tacos, NOLO’s Kitchen/Basement Bar, Parlour/Parlour St. Paul/Borough, Pat’s Tap, The Pourhouse, P.S. Steak/Monello/Constantine, Red Stag Supper Club, Rock Elm Tavern, Saji-Ya, Tria/Kendall’s Tavern/Stockyards Tavern/Central NE, The Sheridan Room, W.A. Frost and Company, Waldmann Brewery. Each coaster is valid for the entire 2022 calendar year.

Curated by St. Paul native, Clay Ahrens, CityTins has become a go-to gift that gives back. “Our outreach encourages diners to keep more of Minnesota-earned dollars in the very places we eat, work and play. To date, we have donated more than $450,000 back into the very communities we serve through fundraisers and in-kind donations,” says co-founder Christin Cilento Ladky.

Founded in 2009 by two Midwestern moms, CityTins’ mission is to encourage and incentivize community support of locally-owned and operated restaurants and businesses that contribute to the culture and community that made every city unique. Originally intended as a guide to eat like a local, CityTins became a cult favorite used for fundraising, corporate gifting and real estate closings. Visit citytins.com to learn more, purchase online or find a list of local retailers and restaurants selling CityTins.
