Summer patio season is officially arriving in Minnesota wine country. Schram Vineyards in Waconia is preparing to celebrate the grand opening of Bonfire & Barrel, its new full-service restaurant and gathering space, with a three-day kickoff event June 4-6 centered around live music, food, cocktails, and outdoor experiences.

While Bonfire & Barrel quietly opened late last year, the upcoming “Summer Starts Here” celebration marks the official debut of the expanded experience, which now includes a newly unveiled deck overlooking the property, a dedicated tasting room, seasonal programming, and a refreshed menu focused on approachable comfort food, shareable plates, wine, cocktails, and Schram Haus beer brewed on-site.
Located on Schram Vineyards’ 32-acre estate near Reitz Lake, the concept is designed to function as both a casual neighborhood destination and a broader summer gathering spot for the west metro. Organizers say the goal is to create a space that feels equally suited for date nights, celebrations, brunch outings, and laid-back evenings with live music.
The opening weekend will unfold across three distinct events. Thursday night will feature an invitation-only VIP and media preview with guided tastings and wine pairings. Friday’s “Locals & Members Night” shifts into a more relaxed community-focused atmosphere with live Americana and bluegrass music from Singleton Street Band, cigar experiences, and patio happy hour offerings.

Saturday’s grand celebration expands into an all-day event featuring live music from Nashville duo Dasher, rotating popup experiences, lawn games, signature cocktails, and surprise food and drink features throughout the property.
The vineyard is also launching a new “Summer at Schram” Passport Program designed to encourage repeat visits throughout June, rewarding guests with entries toward giveaways and VIP experiences during the winery’s anniversary celebrations later this summer.
As nearby travel, outdoor dining, and regional wine experiences continue gaining momentum across Minnesota, Schram’s expansion reflects the growing appetite for destinations that blend food, entertainment, and atmosphere into a full-day experience close to home.
