International Festival of Owls

The Jungle Book

Out on a Limb Dance Theater Company reimagines Rudyard Kipling’s classic kid-meets-jungle story through classic and contemporary dance. More than 60 young dancers perform to music by Twin Cities rocker Dan Israel, off his new album Social Media Anxiety Disorder.

This world-premiere musical stars two trans people: Dash, a spoken-word performer, and Henry, a teen blogger. Dash joins a band on a countrywide tour, and, as Henry discovers them, questions churn about love, family, and gender—all in a “queer Asian-American pop-rock musical.”

Bock Fest

When: March 7
Where: Schell’s Brewing Co., 1860 Schell’s Rd., New Ulm

Seek out seven wooden goat heads (bocks) in Flandrau State Park while “human St. Bernard dogs” strap around kegs of beer. Or, stick to Schell’s Brewing Co. in New Ulm for brats, kraut, and dark German lagers.

Minnesota RollerGirls Home Team Championships

Where: Roy Wilkins Auditorium, 175 W. Kellogg Blvd., St. Paul

The Minnesota Roller Derby’s storied home teams skate circles around (and into) one another at the Roy Wilkins Auditorium in St. Paul to get their name on the Golden Skate.
