It has been a big year for Twin Cities food halls, and it seems the momentum is only continuing to rise. Just in time for its fourth anniversary on Aug. 1, The Market at Malcolm Yards announced that it will be adding two exciting new kitchens to its lineup: limited-time pop-up CHICK’N FLIP, which is available now, and local favorite Saturday Dumpling Co., which is set to open at the end of August.

CHICK’N FLIP is the latest concept from the team behind EGGFLIP/SUSHIFLIP, the Korean egg sandwich-meets-sushi spot that opened in Malcolm Yards earlier this year. As a limited-time pop-up, CHICK’N FLIP will offer all kinds of street-style fried chicken, from tenders and sammies to wings. According to a press release, this venture will be temporary while The Market finalizes the next full-time kitchen.
“We’re excited to bring CHICK’N FLIP to Malcolm Yards and can’t wait for everyone to come out and experience a glimpse of what we’ve been working on and what’s to come,” says Flip Koumalasy, owner of CHICK’N FLIP, in a statement.
Saturday Dumpling Co., on the other hand, is brand-new to the Malcolm Yards family and will be here to stay, taking over the former Momo Dosa space.

Started by Peter Bian and Linda Cao during the pandemic, the restaurant was formerly a weekly dumpling pickup in Minneapolis that quickly garnered a cult following across the state. Shortly after, the duo created a frozen dumpling line, and opened their first brick-and-mortar location in Northeast Minneapolis last year. In addition to their spot at Malcolm Yards, Saturday Dumpling Co. will also be opening in the former Café Cerés location in South Minneapolis this fall.
“Having our second location join the mix at Malcolm Yards is super exciting,” says Peter Bian, co-owner of Saturday Dumpling Co., in a statement. “It’s one of the best food halls in the Twin Cities, filled with great menu choices and innovative chefs, so it feels like a perfect match. And what a great place to debut our dumpling poppers and scallion pancake wraps!”
Alongside the signature pan-fried dumplings, the new scallion pancake wraps will feature flavors like Hainanese chicken salad, Char Siu chicken, and tofu, while the dumpling poppers will come in bold flavor options like Buffalo Chicken with dill blue cheese, Crab Rangoon with citrus sweet chili,a dn Bacon Jalapeño with Zab’s hot honey.
