On Aug. 27, Southdale Center’s strategic lineup of retail upgrades will continue with the unveiling of Minnesota’s first physical Reformation store. An L.A.-based women’s fashion label known and loved for its sustainable practices, vintage-inspired aesthetics, and feminine, refined style, Reformation has commanded the ready-to-wear fashion landscape in recent years, boasting over 2.48 million followers on Instagram and a constant influx of noteworthy celebrity and influencer endorsements. (We’re looking at the iconic red gingham dress worn by Taylor Swift at the U.S. Open, and of course, the many season three looks worn by Lola Tung in popular teen drama series “The Summer I Turned Pretty.”)
While multiple of Minnesota’s Nordstrom and Anthropologie locations maintain a small selection of Reformation items, the opening of a physical location signals an upgrade to both Southdale Center and the Twin Cities’ retail shopping scenes—adding a touch of luxury, personalization, and service-oriented care. Known for its distinct in-store experience, Reformation’s 50-plus stores across four countries and 19 U.S. states bring shoppers in by the droves—and a visit to Southdale’s location will quickly reveal why.
Like its other retail locations, Reformation Southdale was designed with an eco-conscious mindset, featuring energy-efficient systems and water-saving measures that adhere with Green Business Certification standards used across Reformation’s global fleet. At Southdale, that commitment will show up in thoughtful details: from vintage furniture pieces, FSC-certified wooden hangers, reusable totes crafted from leftover fabric, and a pledge to offset the store’s entire electricity use with renewable energy.

The store will also feature Reformation’s signature tech-driven fitting rooms and “magic wardrobes,” which desirably streamline the try-on process. Here’s how it works: One of each item will be available on the floor, allowing customers to easily browse inventory and use touchscreens located throughout the space to curate their fitting rooms. Once inside, shoppers can slide open the doors of their magic wardrobes to find the items requested in proper sizes. Additional touchscreens will be located in each fitting room to easily swap sizes or request new items.
As an added bonus, Reformation Southdale will be tacked onto the brand’s list of RefRecycling destinations, allowing shoppers to return any pre-loved item and achieve credits toward future purchases.
To experience this distinct in-store experience and to shop from Reformation Southdale’s curated offerings of vintage-inspired, trend-forward dresses, denim, tops, pants, skirts, shoes, handbags, and outerwear, stop by Reformation Southdale’s Aug. 27 opening day; located at 2842 Southdale Center, Suite A, Edina.
