October is Vegetarian Awareness Month, and as a vegetarian, I cannot tell you how often going out to eat is a hassle with dating, friends and family. It happens too often that someone picks a restaurant and says to me: “Don’t worry, there are salads.”
Our diets may differ, but much like our carnivorous friends, we crave hearty and fulfilling meals—as well as variety. Here are some restaurants in the Twin Cities that are sure to provide you or that vegetarian friend of yours all three of those things.
Spoonriver: Every day offers a vegetarian special, which boast an infinite variety of grains and seasonal offerings. Not to mention, there are other dishes lacking animal protein, such as the soba noodle salad or crepes. Some of their meat-inspired dishes even come with a vegetarian option.
