Imagine the perfect family picnic by the St. Croix River: you and another couple (socially distant, naturally), maybe a shared meal of miso roast cod with pickled onion alongside stir-fried broccolini.
That’s what you can find at LoLo American Kitchen right now. Both of its locations, in Stillwater and Hudson, Wisconsin, are open for curbside takeout and in-house dining.
If not the cod, go for the spectacular pan-seared Amish chicken with a hint of spice and parsley salsa verde, finished with decadent butterscotch budino ($75). The lineup of family meals includes LoLo’s famous Korean barbecue steak tacos with French fries and fried Brussels sprouts. There’s a cheeseburger and fries situation, too. And an embarrassingly delicious mac and cheese with bacon.
Pick up in Wisconsin, where you can get their cocktails with booze (the Cobra Verde with Thai basil shrub and habanero is my favorite).
