125 reasons to full-on obsess about our state—from food to shopping, from activities to the arts—picked by us and by you

Before 2020 hits, let’s count the ways we’ve felt lucky to call Minnesota home. Here, we’re organizing the best of 2019 into four categories: Food & Drink, Shopping & Services, Things to Do, and Arts & Culture.

A few things on this year’s Best of MN list: barbecue, books, beer. A Mexican wine list, a witchy shopping spree, a first-of-its-kind art exhibit for Native American women. Local satire, an egg-shaped sauna, food editor Jason DeRusha’s favorite bites and sips, healthcare for transgender youth, Amy Klobuchar’s new place on the national stage, Lizzo’s “new man on the Minnesota Vikings,” a reason to belt “Wonderwall” in St. Paul, and, of course, the good ol’ Minnesota Twins.

We also tallied up 75 of your top picks here, as determined by online voting. Thanks for another year!
