No one has done more for small, independent restaurants in America than Guy Fieri and his show “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.” Much of the crew is based in Minneapolis, and so we benefit by having many of our spots highlighted, and season 40 will see at least six local spots on Food Network.
STEPCHLD is up first—the Food Network episode guide says the “Minneapolis spot is servin’ up Ethiopian-inspired creative plates like flavor-bursting bone marrow and lip-smacking lavender nori shrimp.” Can’t wait to see owner and head chef Kamal Mohamed in the kitchen, as well as the staff and some regular guests in the episode, too.
Watch STEPCHLD on Friday, Oct. 18 at 8 p.m. and again on Sat., Oct. 19 at 11 a.m. Here are some other Minneapolis spots to catch on air:
November 1 + 2: Hai Hai, a “Minneapolis Southeast Asian spot cookin’ up Balinese chicken thighs and Vietnamese pork belly crepes.”
November 8 + 9: Union Hmong Kitchen, “servin’ up craveable faves like lights-out Thai tea pancakes and finger-lickin’ crispy chicken.”
November 15: Guacaya Bistreaux’s “Panamanian chef is cookin’ up a taste of the Caribbean with big-deal beef skewers and jammin’ jerk chicken.”
“Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” also shot at Oro by Nixta and OG Zaza last month, but the air dates for those episodes have yet to be released. Stay tuned!
